THIRD PARTY PERSONAL INJURY CASES: Best Practices and Procedures For Worker’s Compensation Attorneys
David Zwerin, Esq., Senior Trial Attorney, Hill & Moin LLP
(1 Areas of Ethics and Professionalism Credit)

David Zwerin, Esq. learned at a young age that nothing great is achieved in life without a relentless work ethic and tireless dedication to excel. David brings these qualities to Hill & Moin, LLP where he has served as the firm’s senior trial counsel since 2016.  David has dedicated his practice to zealously representing hard-working New Yorkers injured as a result of someone else’s negligence. David gained invaluable early experience working closely with the founder of a small plaintiff’s personal injury practice in lower Manhattan, assisting on many matters including a traumatic brain injury case against the New York City Transit Authority where the plaintiff was awarded $16 million dollars.  David believes that all victims deserve a lawyer who truly cares about them and will work tirelessly to secure the best possible result. “Insurance companies will do everything possible to pay an injured victim as little as possible. At Hill & Moin, we carefully review every aspect of a client’s case and determine a legal strategy tailored to give that client the best possible chance to maximize their financial recovery.”

HOME OFFICE & REMOTE WORKERS WC CLAIMS
Mike Walker, Esq., Fusco, Brandenstein & Rada, PC
(1 Areas of Skills Credit)

Since Covid-19 forced changes to the workplace in March 2020, many employers have shifted toward allowing or requiring workers to work remotely or in other non-traditional remote settings. How does this affect an injured worker's ability to claim a Workers' Compensation injury?

Michael F. Walker Jr., Esq. has worked as an attorney with Fusco, Brandenstein & Rada, P.C.‘s Workers’ Compensation Department since 2014, serving as a strong advocate for clients in Long Island and New York City. Michael is grateful for the opportunity to represent hard working members of his community and proudly provides each client with dedicated and devoted service in all aspects of their cases from initial consultations to hearings before Workers’ Compensation Law Judges. Prior to joining FBR, Michael worked as an attorney in commercial banking and real estate transactions and litigation.  Michael is an honors graduate of SUNY College at Oneonta where he was a member of the Phi Eta Sigma National Freshman Honor Society as well as a member and captain of the Oneonta Rugby Football Club. Subsequently, he interned for Late Night with Conan O’Brien and worked as a legal assistant at the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers before enrolling in law school in 2010. In 2013, Michael graduated cum laude from St. John’s University School of Law where he served as a Notes & Comments Editor on the Law Review and had his student note published. During his time at St. John’s, Michael received a Federal Scholars Program Award and served as a Judicial Intern for the Honorable Magistrate Judge Tomlinson in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York. Professional memberships include the New York State Bar Association, Nassau County Bar Association and the Suffolk County Bar Association.  When not practicing law, Michael enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters. He coaches his daughters’ intramural soccer and softball teams. Fusco, Brandenstein & Rada has proudly sponsored the softball team since 2015.
